SAFETY

Mission Statement/Commitment Responsibility
The strength of Lee Mechanical Contractor’s Safety Policy is its simplicity. First and foremost, management is responsible and accountable for safety just as they are for quality, production, and schedule. Second, every employee is trained to work safely regardless of the hazard. Third, both staff and line management conduct audits at the job sites to ensure a safe and healthy working atmosphere. Finally, our safety objectives, just like our other business objectives, are evaluated by quantifiable measured benchmarks. The aforementioned four-point safety policy is detailed below:

Management is responsible and accountable for safety
Management will be held accountable for the safety performance of the Company. Only when senior management demands safety and health performance and objective achievement can a Safety and Health Program be effective.

Employees will be trained to work safely
Knowledge of safe practices is not instinctive. Employees will be trained in safe work practices, policies and procedures. Management will establish curriculum objectives for enhancing employee awareness through various levels of training.

Audits of the workplace
Only when senior management recognizes deficiencies, can programs, policies and procedures be enhanced. Safety Audits provide an ongoing assessment of performance and timely correction of deficiencies.

Corporate Objectives
Senior management develops objectives for safety and health performance. The level of success will be measured by the degree to which objectives are met.

Lee Mechanical’s commitment to achieving excellence in Safety is well documented and recognized within our industry. The elimination of occupational injuries within our work force is foremost in our efforts. While the construction industry involves many conditions and activities, which may result in injuries to employees, costly schedule delays and damage to facilities and equipment, we at Lee recognize that these factors are manageable. The entire thrust of our Safety and Health program is to focus on the well being of our employees, identify conditions detrimental to health, safety and the environment and initiate corrective applications as a proactive preventative measure.

Lee Mechanical Contractors holds line management responsible and accountable for the success or failure of its safety efforts, just as project management is held accountable for quality assurance, productivity, cost control and scheduling. Although ultimate responsibility for effective performance throughout Lee rests with its management, this is a shared responsibility. Each employee, regardless of position, is required to accept his/her responsibilities and is held directly accountable for accidents or injuries within his/her area of control.

Pursuant to the dynamic aspect of our safety program, we fully appreciate that a well-written program has little or no merit until implemented. Our high degree of implementation is accomplished through ongoing training programs at the craft and management levels.

Program Summary
Implementation of our safety program consists of hiring competent tradesmen, added training of employees, and tracking mechanisms for the purpose of loss control, trend analysis and ongoing assessments.

The effectiveness of a successful safety program embodies active participation and implementation of safety policies by all employee levels within the company; the CEO and/or President is responsible to support the implementation and enforcement of the safety program. The Corporate Safety Officer is responsible for establishing and coordinating loss control policies and procedures within Lee Mechanical. The Site Manager is responsible to direct implementation and enforce the Policies and Procedures of our Safety Manual.

At Lee Mechanical Contractors safety is our top priority.
